Whether passing through or staying in Glen Innes, you can try your luck at discovering sapphires and gemstones. Begin your adventure by watching a DVD that explains how to fossick. Then, purchase a bag of gemstone wash, which guarantees at least 10 gems per bag. Head down to the fossicking park to search for your treasures. The park provides sieves, tweezers, and a bag for your finds, ensuring great fun for everyone, especially the kids who will love this dirty yet thrilling activity. The small fossicking park, located in town, has limited capacity, so it’s best to come prepared. Bring sunscreen, and a hat, and wear suitable footwear, as all necessary equipment is supplied.
