Constructed around 1881, the building was originally called the Great Northern Hotel and was of single ground floor construction. The second floor was added in 1904 and the name changed to the Commercial Hotel. The Top Pub offers a beautiful undercover beer garden, which has a fully fenced children's play area, complete with a cubby house and toys. The pub has a bottle shop, a TAB, a large screen television with Sky and Fox, and pool tables. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner from seven days a week. Accommodation is available in comfortable en suite rooms.
